Jeremy Hunt, the Secretary of State for Health has approved the Shaping a Healthier Future programme's plans to provide more services in a community setting and centralise hospital care across North West London.
The decision follows a detailed review by the Independent Reconfiguration Panel which concluded that the “programme provides the way forward for the future and that the proposals for change will enable the provision of safe, sustainable and accessible services.”
These changes put forward by clinicians have always been about putting patients first. The improvements are needed to modernise the delivery of health care, fit for the 21st century, to deliver much needed care at home and in the community and to concentrate specialised services to provide higher quality teams.
