Would you know what to call a new health and social care centre?

NHS Hammersmith and Fulham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (LBHF) are asking local people in White City and Wormholt to enter a competition to ‘name the new health and social care centre.’

The CCG and council are asking residents, school children and visitors to the area to put their thinking caps on and join in and help name the centre.

The local community have been heavily involved in focus groups and workshops through-out the project and the CCG and council would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

The new health and social care centre, which is currently under construction, is due to open on Bloemfontein Road W12 in April 2014. The currently nameless centre will not only provide the best in health and social care but will also be a community hub offering training, activities and health and wellbeing services. Borough residents will be able to access specialist dental and child development services as well as specialist services for people with long term conditions such as diabetes, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and heart conditions.

Dr Tim Spicer, Chair of Hammersmith and Fulham CCG and a local GP, said:

“The health and social care centre in White City is a flagship facility and key to how we will improve care out of hospital and deliver care closer to people’s homes as well as preventing people going into hospital in the first case. The centre will showcase the way health and social care professionals will work together to provide an integrated service to those who live and work in White City.

As a Clinical Commissioning Group, patients are at the heart of the organisation and we want to ensure patients have easier access to consistently high quality primary care and that patients with long-term conditions, who need care from different services, will receive one co-ordinated package of care that meets their needs. The new health and social care centre, White City, will deliver all of this and much more.”

The winner will be announced at the White City Festival on the 15th September.
